Meet Raise for Rowyn's Founders

Hi, my name is Brynn Johnson. I was raised in the small town of Rochester, Wa and resided there until I met my husband Cody and moved to Tenino. My family has deep history in Tenino and I have fallen in love with the community. I have been a Hair Stylist at the Sandstone Salon and Spa located in Tenino for the past 5 years. I am a very proud Momma of 2. My son Wyatt is 3 years old and my daughter Rowyn went to heaven September 16th, 2014 at 18 months old. After experiencing the tragedy of losing my daughter, Cassie and I have created Raise for Rowyn. This is my new passion. Cherishing my daughter's memory and raising funds for families in similar situations in Rowyn's honor. One day at a time I am healing gracefully and making Rowyn proud.

Hi, my name is Cassie Miller, formerly Cassie Krisher, and I am the Vice President and Co-Founder of Raise for Rowyn. I come from the small town of Benton City, Washington where I have a very supportive loving family. I graduated from CWU in 2005 with a BA in Public Relations, and moved to western Washington about 8 years ago taking a chance with a man I now call my husband. We are extremely blessed with two healthy little boys, ages 4 and 1 and live a rather simple country life. This community has brought me in as one of their own, it has most certainly become home. I continue to work part-time as a disability adjudicator, and dabbled in coaching soccer last year. Our simple life was knocked off track last September, but together with much support of family and friends, we continue moving forward striving to be better people for Rowyn.

Hi, my name is Jen Scharber. I am a small town girl, I spent my early childhood in Rochester, and moved to Tenino when I was 13. I am married to my high school sweetheart Ron. We are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Madison is 13 and Macie is 7. We live a simple life, I work at a Law Office now, but up until 6 months ago I had an in home childcare here in Tenino for 10 years. I watched both Cassie and Brynn's kids since they were born. This tragic accident may have been life shattering, but my amazing beautiful friends have turned this tragedy into something positive. I was truly honored when Brynn asked me to be on the Raise for Rowyn Board, I feel like we are truly doing this all with Angel Rowyn leading us in the right direction and helping us make this non profit a huge success in helping other families.

Hi! I’m Kristi. My husband and I have three children, a son and twin girls. We raise cattle on a small farm on the outskirts of Tenino. I am a Registered Dental Hygienist and received my Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University. I am a life- long Tenino resident (third generation) and LOVE my town. In 2011 with the support of my family I created the Adam Craig Foundation and established the Four Square Mile Music Festival featuring one of my favorite people in the world, my brother Adam Craig. I believe very strongly in community and small town ties. My grandparents were dear friends with little Rowyn’s namesake, great- grandpa Leea. My parents went to school with Cody’s parents, and in turn I went to school with Cody and my younger brother grew up with Cody’s younger brother Colt. After the accident I reached out to Cassie through a mutual friend, up until then Cassie and I had never met. She told me that she wanted to do a 5k fundraiser in Rowyn’s memory and asked if I could help. The next thing I knew I was sitting at a Starbucks with Brynn laying the foundation for Raise for Rowyn. I could not be more proud of the Raise for Rowyn team, and I am honored to be a part of it.

Hi, my name is Stefanie Carlson. I was born and raised in the Steamboat Island community just outside of Olympia, and moved to Tenino 10 years ago when I met my husband Casey. It was then that I met Cody and Brynn Johnson, as we lived right next door to each other for many years, and they quickly became some of my dearest friends.
Casey and I hope to start a family very soon, but in the meantime, we are proud parents to our ‘fur kids’ – 4 dogs and a cat. I work for the state as a Management Analyst, and spend my free time doing CrossFit and running. We also try to get away for camping trips as often as possible.
I was incredibly honored when asked to be a part of the Raise for Rowyn team. I cannot think of a better way to honor Angel Rowyn’s legacy and celebrate her beautiful life.

Hi my name is Sherie Peterson. I moved to Tenino in 1992 when I became engaged to Nihls B Peterson (a Tenino boy ) . We were married in 1993 . I have two son's Ben Peterson 1994 and Nihls I Peterson 1997 . I have been very blessed to raise my family in Tenino I could not have asked for a better community where friends become family. I am a hairstylist in Tenino at the Sandstone Salon and I have worked with Brynn for over five years. I've known the Johnson family because of my husband going to school with some of them. To make a long story short I was honored when Brynn asked me to join her team RFR . There was no doubt in my mind I wanted to go on this journey with her.
